Under the name “Public Works” an open studio weekend is organised at Ruigoord every year in September.

There are over 40 studios in the village, providing space for artists of various disciplines. During Public Works, all the studios and other buildings are open to the public. It can be seen as a public justification to show what is achieved by the creative artists throughout the year in the usually closed studios and workshops. Throughout the weekend there is a great variety of demonstrations, exhibitions, performances, and festivities, both indoors and outdoors, the open studio weekend is free of charge.

See also the section of this website in which the Ruigoord artists are presented.
