Poort van Ruigoord
Collectief Ruigoord
Ruigoord has had its gate wide open for 50 years. However, the gate, from the industrial environment into the green oasis, could use a stronger marker. This green gate was conceived and designed by Ruben Lodeizen. Thieu Smeets added two sparrows and the symbol of Ruigoord (the Psylist) to the gate. Dennis Bast intertwined willows in the arch. The green group, led by Naomi Laudermilk and Sieger Duinkerken, provided the plants, which will climb and grow in the green gate in the coming years.
Psylist, the symbol of Ruigoord, consists of the trident of Neptune and of Shiva, as well as the Greek letter psi (symbol of non-exact sciences), the lemniscate (symbol of infinity) and the smile of the reclining moon. The psylist can be found throughout Ruigoord, on top of the church, on flyers of parties and on the swaying wood made by Froid. Psilist, is also the name of a periodical publication, the last editions of which appeared back in 1985 and 1986. The periodical, like many in Ruigoord, was a Gesamtkunstwerk.
