Soprano Vera Hiltbrunner, born in Bern, Switzerland, completed her Master in vocal studies at
the FHK Tilburg (NL) in 2016 following her Bachelor at the Musik-Akademie Basel.
During the 2016/2017 season, Hiltbrunner will perform with the Dutch opera company
Opera2day, covering the 1. Soprano in the production Dr. Miracle’s last Illusion. In August 2016
the rising soprano performed the role of Anne Frank in Grigory Frid’s Mono-Opera The Diary of
Anne Frank at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Additionally, she has performed the roles of Adele
in Die Fledermaus and as soprano soloist in Carmina Burana.
Hiltbrunner was a participant in the project San Marco in Gelderland in the 2015 edition of NJO
Muziekzomer, with conductor Etienne Siebens and renowned soprano Claron McFadden,
performing polyphonic music of the Venetian School for eight vocalists and trombones.
Additionally, the project included performances of “Klangbeschreibung 2”, by the German
composer Wolfgang Rhim.
In 2015 the soprano made her Utrecht Early Music Festival debut, with the vocal ensemble The
Calliope Consort, performing a program of english madrigals by John Ward and John Dowland.
